Come along for a visit to Norfolk Southern's former Pennsylvania Railroad Middle Division, best known as the Horseshoe Curve line through Altoona, and CSX's former Baltimore & Ohio line over Sand Patch Grade. It's great mountain railroading over some of the most famous locations in the eastern U.S.



Illinois Rails



All aboard for a journey across the state of Illinois in this program. Nine segments look at subjects including Norfolk Southern's former Wabash mainline, Canadian National in central and southern Illinois, Christmas trains on a shortline, a retiring engineer's last run, and more!



A Look At The Evansville Western's West End



Come along for a look at the west end of the Evansville Western Railway, a shortline that operates a portion of the former St. Louis line of the Louisville & Nashville through southern Illinois.



The Illinois Central: Four Years After The Merger



Four years after the merger of the Illinois Central Railroad into the Canadian National system, we travel a segment of the Mainline of Mid America to take a look at day to day operations. In this program, we start at Centralia, Illinois, and move south along the Centralia Subdivision. Along the way, we stop at every town until we reach Wetaug, Illinois. Wetaug is the last passing siding north of Cairo, Illinois, the very southern tip of the state.

Pacing sequences with 11 steam locomotives and 34 diesel sequences over 3 1/2 hours on two DVDs. Disc 1 features steam and Disc 2 features diesels.




The Crab Orchard & Egyptian: A History of a Unique Short Line



A look at the last steam powered freight-only common carrier in the U.S., from its start in 1973 as a tourist hauler through its diesel powered operations in 2011.



Night Trains



Night Trains looks at the railroad scene in urban, small town and rural areas, all between sunrise and sunset. The first portion of the program covers the Amtrak and Metra commuter traffic at Chicago’s Union Station as the January sun sets. Then we move into rural and small town settings, catching mainline and switching action. There are high speed freight and passenger trains, trains moving at slow speeds through junctions, and a local crew working a coal loadout.



Union Pacific Across Nebraska



In August, 2010, Diverging Clear Productions visited the busiest freight railroad in the world: Union Pacific’s Council Bluffs Subdivision from Omaha to North Platte, Nebraska, including the Golden Spike Tower overlooking North Platte's Bailey Yard.



Union Pacific's Chester Subdivision



This program takes a look at the action on the former Missouri Pacific line between Chester and Thebes, Illinois. We visit many of the scenic highlights along the line, including the Thebes bridge and the riverfront trackage in Chester. We visit nearly every town and village along the route, and rural scenic areas such as the Pine Hills and the Big Muddy River bridge at Aldridge.



Pullman Rail Journeys



Iowa Pacific is bringing Pullman back. The first route of the new service operates on Amtrak's City of New Orleans. Climb aboard for a ride on the Pullman cars from Chicago to New Orleans and return. See the sights and meet some of the people who make it happen.



Then And Now:
Crawford Hill



Visit Northwest Nebraska for a look at Crawford Hill, one of the biggest challenges to coal traffic moving south and east from the Powder River Basin. This two disc volume looks at Burlington Northern operations in the 1980s on Disc 1 and BNSF operations in 2012 on Disc 2.



Then And Now:
The Sand Hills Subdivision



This two disc volume looks at BNSF's main artery through the Sand Hills of Nebraska. Disc 1 looks at Burlington Northern operations in the 1980s and disc 2 looks at BNSF operations in 2012.



The Monticello Railway Museum



Visit the Monticello Railway Museum in central Illinois, for a look at steam and first generation diesels in operation, including cab rides on four different locomotives.
