Barbara holds a master's degree in Holistic Counseling from Salve Regina University, and an undergraduate degree in Marketing & Communications from the University of Rhode Island. She is a certified Hypnotherapist, is certified in Hatha, Prenatal, and Therapeutic Yoga, is a Reiki Master and is certified in Therapeutic Reflexology. She has been involved in the field of yoga and holistic health since 1998. She also spent 13 years working as a counselor for an international au pair agency, providing support to au pairs who came to the U.S. and to the families who hosted them, and previously spent many years in Marketing and Sales in the jewelry industry -- she left the corporate world to pursue her passion in the areas of counseling, yoga, and integrated healing
Over the years, Barbara has participated in many yoga retreats and workshops, some as close to home as Kripalu in Lenox, MA and Integral Yoga Institute in New York City, and others farther away -- The Bahamas, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, and the South of France. She has integrated all of these techniques and teachings to create her own "eclectic" style, incorporating Sivananda and Integral principles, among others. She brings a playful and lighthearted approach to her work with the goal of helping to bring clarity, health and wholeness to clients and participants in her classes and workshops. In addition to teaching weekly yoga classes, she offers private sessions in Holistic Counseling, Hypnotherapy, Reiki, Reflexology and Therapeutic Yoga and conducts workshops and special events on stress management and personal development.
