Welcome!! to pinkhorse.org home of Equestrian Charity Events (ECE) & the Pink Ribbon Classic Charity Horse Show. Equestrian Charity Events (ECE) is the umbrella organization over charity events that we will be holding, like the Pink Ribbon Classic. As we host more charity events they will be posted on this website pinkhorse.org



Our Mission

Equestrian Charity Events (ECE) mission is to have events like the Pink Ribbon Classic to spread the importance of awareness, early detection of breast cancer and other life treating cancers or illnesses, and to give back to the community.

Charity Overview

Equestrian Charity Events is a registered 501(c) (3) non-profit organization our EIN # is 46-3984780 . Our goal is to provide financial donations to other organizations and businesses under the guidelines of the federal IRS tax code. In a very short time we have given over $20,000 to local charities chapters like American Cancer Assoc., Riding for the Handicap, and most recently Make a Wish Foundation.


About Pink Ribbon Classic Charity Horse Show (ECE event)

This unique 4-day all breed equestrian competition will be held at the beautiful Sun Beau Valley Farm in Portage County, Ravenna Ohio of this year. The dates are July 26th-29th 2018 . We will be benefiting local breast cancer & other charities to raise cancer awareness and help out people in need. We offer a special tack room award, a tradition at horse shows for the "best set up". The show barn that wins this award and gets to pick a local charity or charities that we will donate money too, a unique way for our horse show exhibitors to give back to their community. Some of the activities will include Pink Ribbon and Black Tie Saturday night, a night that traditionally hosts our championships classes and our officials will be decked out in black tie and we ask our exhibitors and spectators to be decked out in PINK.



Saturday night also boasts awards like the Silver Survivor Cup a perpetual trophy where we name a cancer survivor every year, this is given by Amy & Jack Haller from Valencia PA. Another trophy is the Paul St Charles Perpetual Memorial 5 Gaited trophy given by the Jarvis family from Salon OH and the 5 Gaited Championship perpetual trophy give by the McBoom Farms, Derry PA in memory of Callaway's Hot Tip. The Fine Harness Championship memorial trophy is given in memory of Yvonne Zorn by her daughter Paula Zorn Bault. And the 5 Gaited Amateur Lonnie Lavery Memorial trophy given by Leslie Reynolds, Hinckley OH. And finally we have "The Survivor" memorial trophy given by Pam & Lou Grell of PA for the Amateur Park Class. Many trophies and lots of fun think PINK in June! And don't forget about reserving your Box Seats early, we sold out of the covered seats last year and what a great way to party at your box while decked in Pink and enjoying a charity event with world class horses!





About Portage County Ravenna Ohio

Located between Akron and Youngstown Ohio just off of RT 76 and minutes from Kent State University and not far from Cleveland OH. Portage County has over 1,500 youth involved with equestrian programs and has the 4th largest youth programs in the nation. This area has also cultivated some of the finest equestrians and equestrian related businesses worldwide, and mostly dominated by women. It is no secret there is a special bond between a horse and a little girl all the way up to a mature women well into her 80. Another important fact is Ohio has the fourth-highest breast cancer mortality rate in the country. A county dominated by future equestrians and a county that raising awareness as Ohio patients have access to some of the nations best hospitals.

About the Show Horses:
Top show horses competing are best of the best and will be going head to head for the Championship Tricolor neck ribbon, and the unique Pink bridle ribbon adorned with champion blue and trimmed in pink, an indication you are a champion. Many breeds will stepping up to the challenge including the American Saddlebred know as the Peacock of the show ring. Other breeds to strut their show horse ways will be the exquisite Arabian, the Hackney, Morgans, Friesians and many others which will be competing in many different disciplines. What a great experience to see all of these high caliber show horses all in one venue, all there to ride for the cure. Horse show exhibitors come from, PA, NY, MI, WV, OH, IL and even Canada to compete at Pink Ribbon surely a show not to be missed! Visit us on Facebook to see more show pictures.



About Sun Beau Valley :

This show grounds where the Pink Ribbon Classic is held is with out a doubt the most beautiful show grounds in the tri-State area. A beautiful white show ring fence with a grass center, like the old time shows, and a beautiful landscaped center ring all surrounds the Officials gazebo. We also offer cover box seats that are polo style and you are allowed to bring your finest china to wine and dine as you support our Charity and cheer for your favorite equestrian competitor, which cheering in encouraged. As the show goes one we will have an official horse show organist playing along as the exhibitors show for the coveted Blue and PINK championship ribbon.


Our covered Box seats are very popular please get your reservations in early we did sell out last year. We do have plenty outside box seats, but there is noting like being up close and personal with the horses and exhibitors.
