VIRGINIA MC LAUGHLIN – BENJAMIN MOORE HUE AWARD
In 2012 Virginia McLaughlin was given a Special Recognition HUE Award by Benjamin Moore Paints in an industry ceremony and lavish reception at the Hearst Tower in New York City. Her creative use of Benjamin Moore paints during her 40-year career as an ‘itinerant muralist’, and her laudable passion for what she does were cited as some of the reasons for her selection by the judges as the recipient of this prestigious award.
During his introduction of Virginia, Carl Minchew, Vice President of Color Innovation and Design of Benjamin Moore, remarked that the award was given to her in part because of her “artistic transformation of interior spaces and exquisite execution of a timeless art form – namely murals.” More of his introductory comments and the video of the HUE Award to Virginia can be seen on YouTube.
Her retrospective book "Itinerant Painter" written by Jeanne was recently published.
